How Defensible Deletion Fits in Your Information Management Strategy

For the past several decades there has existed a persistent fear among information management professionals of deleting data and cleaning out repositories. However, between breaches, privacy regulations, and other factors, we have reached the point where the risks of unnecessary data retention and mismanaged data outweigh the risks of deletion. Fortunately, organizations can employ strategic classification and retention policies paired with aggressive disposition across repositories to build a better governance foundation. This session will explore how to apply governance fundamentals to decrease data hoarding, mitigate risk, optimize access to documents for eDiscovery, and comply with privacy regulations while maintaining a legally defensible profile.

Speaker Bio:  Georgy Kobakhidze, ZLTECH, is an Information Governance Solutions Consultant with extensive experience working with the Fortune 500 to implement records management, eDiscovery, and compliance initiatives. He has particular expertise in data mapping and remediation, in light of the growing volumes of ROT data now faced by today’s large organizations.
