Speakers: Jim Higdon – Sr. VP Information Strategy and Chad Hartman – Director of RIM and Operations, at VDS (Vendor Direct Solutions)
Jim, provides consulting, analysis and strategy for clients developing Information Strategies. Design records and document management systems using proprietary and third party tools such as SharePoint. Manage VDS’s development team to custom design document management systems and workflow for their clients.  He worked with Loeb & Loeb on their upgrade of CA/CARM application, including developing email rules, retention and disposition rules, integrating and updated E-Mail filing application, policy development Onsite Full User, training, Workflow Analysis & Staffing Diagrams, End User Focus Groups; Accuroute CARM integration including best practices and workflow for Litigation Group Scanning Pilot.  And he worked with King County Washington (Seattle) on their CARM (Filesurf) Implementation & Configuration and consulting regarding records policy and deployment for 13,000 County Employees, Process Consulting, CARM Space. Previous experience includes Records Manager, Hilton Hotels, Records Consultant, Uniscribe and Records/Document Management Systems Consultant, CA/Autonomy.

Chad, Consults and project manages a successful implementation of a new DMS, from developing taxonomy, workspace design, testing, to full migration and deployment. Lead eight managers supervising 49 employees at seven client sites engaged in all aspects of facilities and records management. Maintain and manage customer relationships in Northern California and Arizona, focusing on delivering excellent customer service and exceeding expectations. Coach direct report managers on HR functions resulting in below industry average turnover. He worked with Shook Hardy & Bacon LLP– Provided ongoing guidance and education to staff and practice groups on best practices as it pertained to document retention, electronic records, physical records, legal holds, forensics, etc.  At Greenberg Traurig LLP -He helped create naming convention standards for improved profiling of all documents for better search ability within the Firm's Document Management System (Filesite). Designed LegalKey filing taxonomy for physical records. Implemented hyper-linking of documents in LegalKey with Filesite.
