Breaking News! Major Changes to EU Safe Harbor Data

On Oct. 6th the European Court of Justice sent EU-US digital commerce into tailspin when it struck down the Safe Harbor agreement.  US companies relied on this framework to legally move Europeans’ personal data across the Atlantic.  Agreeing with the Austrian law student who brought the case before the Irish Data Protection authorities, the high court judge basically said EU data on US servers isn’t safe from the prying eyes of the US government.
