Best Practices for On and Off-Boarding Laterals

Most companies are not stagnant. People and business come and go. How these changes are handled is important to the continued stability of any company.

This session will examine best practices related to the acquisition and release of client information in a law firm, either as the result of an arriving or departing lawyer, or the decision of a client to engage or disengage from the firm.  The session will cover due diligence activities, client consent requirements, issues related to electronic documents, and other related topics.

While this talk has a law firm tilt, many of the practices easily translate to any industry that deals with the transition of people in and out of the business and acquisition of clients or even their departure.  This is especially true in the areas of due diligence activities, client consent requirements, and issues related to electronic documents.
