Coming in March: Truth or Dare: Can You Prove Compliance?

Recent research shows that while 87% of organizations have formal RIM programs, only 8% measure their compliance and only 7% of their employees are engaged in RIM. A framework of basic RIM risk controls, or expected activities based on policy, can help level-set expectations across your enterprise and provide a means by which business units – and you - can evaluate their performance and plan for remediation.  Once measured, performance can be benchmarked against your own goals or even the performance of other organizations.   The old adage of “what gets measured is what gets done” holds especially true when considering the financial, legal and security risks of the explosive volumes of information being created each and every day across your enterprise.  As a result, controlling and managing information has become more complex and requires more than RIM staff to police the compliance activities that your customers, shareholders, and regulators expect.

Handouts: A companion Practical Guide to a RIM Risk and Controls Framework with a set of pre-defined controls and rankings will be made available for attendees.

Attendees will learn:

  • How to institutionalize a RIM Risk & Controls Framework: timing and roles and responsibilities
  • How to assign ratings to performance
  • The value in benchmarking results
