About Us

The Golden Gate Chapter of ARMA International, which serves the San Francisco Bay Area, has nearly 130 members representing a diverse group of large and small businesses, government agencies, law firms, pharmaceuticals, finance, utilities, and non profit organizations.

Our membership includes Senior Executives, Entrepreneurs, Industry Consultants, Vendors and Records and Information Management professionals.

The Chapter holds monthly meetings and members and non-members are invited and encouraged to attend. The information sharing sessions are held at local venues and typically involve working luncheons.

Chapter Activities Include:

  • Monthly lunch meetings for purposes of education, networking and information exchange.  Meetings are generally held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, unless otherwise announced. No meetings are held during July and August.

  • Member networking

  • Strong member attendance to Annual ARMA conference.

  • Education – Industry, legal and vendor

The association was established in 1955. Its approximately 27,000 members include records managers, archivists, corporate librarians, imaging specialists, legal professionals, IT managers, consultants, and educators, all of whom work in a wide variety of industries, including government, legal, healthcare, financial services, and petroleum in the United States, Canada, and 30-plus other countries. ARMA International publishes The Information Management Journal, the only professional journal specifically for professionals who manage records and information on a daily basis. The award-winning Journal is published bi-monthly and features top-drawer articles on the hottest topics in records and information management today, as well as marketplace news and analysis. The association also develops and publishes standards and guidelines related to records management. It was a key contributor to the international records management standard, ISO-15489.

The Golden Gate Chapter has a strong and rich heritage, supporting ARMA International and serving the needs of the Greater Bay Area Records Management Professionals. The chapter’s members are an extremely talented, diverse and passionate mix of professionals representing a broad range of job positions and industries. Our members are what make the chapter special.
